Boarding Terms & Conditions

Boarding Fees

Please check latest boarding charges via telephone or on the website prior to booking. These may change from time to time and fees for your stay will be confirmed with your booking.

Deposit & Balance Payments

Once we receive your booking request, we will send you an email with the details you will require to forward your 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. Only upon receipt of your deposit, will your booking be confirmed. Deposit payments are due within 5 days and will act as an agreement that the customer accepts our published terms and conditions and payment policy. You will receive an email receipt of your deposit payment with your booking confirmation.

In the event that a deposit is not received when requested, it will be assumed that the booking is no longer required, and the said dates will be released. The customer will recieve an email to confirm the cancellation. 

You will receive an email and payment link via our booking system 15 days prior to your pets arrival requesting the remaining balance for your pets stay.

Balance payments may be paid in cash on arrival but strictly by prior arrangement.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations or amendments to the duration of a pets stay, within 14 days of the commencement of the booked period with Kingstone Pet Boarding will result in the full boarding fees being due for payment. 

No reduction to boarding fees will made in the event of pets arriving after their agreed arrival date or departing prior to their confirmed departure date.

The cancellation policy will be applied in the event of any pet declined boarding on the grounds of arriving without proof of current vaccinations, Microchip, neutering requirements or in an acceptable state of health to board.

Outstanding Fees

Kingstone Pet boarding are unable to accept future bookings from customers with outstanding fees, including cancellation fees. Any additional costs incurred by us, such as parasite treatments, veterinary bills (including transport) etc.; are payable upon collection of your pet(s).

Cat Vaccinations

All boarders must have current vaccinations for upper respiratory infections (Cat Flu) and Feline Infectious Enteritis and provide their vaccination card for each stay. You may wish to upload your cats vaccinations and an image of thier current card directly onto thier profile page of our booking system.

All vaccinations, including a course of vaccinations, (for example kittens or cats restarting a vaccination programme), must be completed no less than 14 days before boarding to allow the vaccine to become effective and also to allow possible side effects to be monitored for within the home environment.

We strongly advise that boarders also receive vaccinations for feline leukaemia (FeLV).

Please check with us or your vet prior to boarding if you are in any doubt as to the requirements. We reserve the right to refuse to board any cat(s) if their vaccination status is in doubt. The arrival of cats without the correct vaccinations (and therefore unable to board), will be classed as a cancellation and the booking will be charged in full.

The cancellation policy will be applied to all bookings cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival due to cat(s) having insufficient vaccinations.

Microchip.

 From 10th June 2024 all cats from 20 weeks of age must be microchipped. We are unable to accept cats from age 20 weeks without proof of having a registered microchip

Rabbit Vaccinations

All rabbits boarding with us (and indeed any reputable boarding establishment) must first be fully vaccinated, to protect your rabbits against Myxomatosis , Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic disease (RVHD) 1 and Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic disease (RVHD) 2. You are required to bring your rabbits vaccination card or to have uploaded their details and an image of their card onto their profie on our booking system prior to arrival.

All vaccinations must be completed no less than 14 days before boarding to allow the vaccine to become effective and also to allow possible side effects to be monitored for within the home environment.

The cancellation policy will be applied to all bookings cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival due to pet(s) having insufficient vaccinations.

Health requirements

Families must inform Kingstone Pet Boarding prior to booking if their cat has a history of a Respiratory illness or Virus. To protect the health and safety of all boarders, we may request to see a copy of your cats medical history prior to accepting bookings

We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any pet that is displaying symptoms or has ongoing veterinary investigations for an infectious contagious disease.

We expect all boarders to be in a reasonable state of health on arrival at Kingstone Pet Boarding and owners must declare any existing/suspected medical conditions and any medications or treatments prescribed.

Kingstone Pet Boarding reserves the right to refuse admission to any pet displaying signs of ill health pending veterinary advice.

If a veterinary practice has advised that your pet should be boarded in isolation, Kingstone Pet Boarding will reserve the right to decline boarding on the grounds that your pet(s) is not deemed fit enough to board. In this event the booking will be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation policy applied.

All male cats over 6 months should be neutered.

You agree to sign the required consent forms to enable us to care for your pet(s) in accordance to the Animal Activities Licensing regulations (AAL) which may include the need to seek veterinary advice and/or treatment in your absence and that you agree to reimburse these costs to us on collection of your pet(s).

Kingstone Pet Boarding’s own vets will be utilised and your pets own vet contacted for the transferring medical history.

Kingstone Pet Boarding will inform your emergency contact as soon as possible in the event of your pet’s ill health or if the proprietor has concerns with regards to their welfare.

Whilst every care and precaution is taken with every pet boarded at Kingstone Pet Boarding, the Proprietor cannot be held responsible for any illness, disease or death that may occur during boarding.

Medication

Kingstone pet boarding will administer medication providing it is brought in its original packaging clearly displaying the pets name and the veterinary prescription. The owner will be required to sign the appropriate medication consent form to confirm that the instructions for administration/storage are correct at the time of boarding. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform Kingstone Pet Boarding of the medical condition for which the medication is required and any additional observations required and potential side effects of treatment. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure an adequate supply of medication is provided for the duration of their pets' stay.

Parasite prevention

Under the AAL Guidelines Kingstone pet boarding is not permitted to stock or administer parasite prevention products unless prescribed by a veterinary surgeon.

Therefore, you should ensure your pet is up to date with flea and worming treatments, allowing sufficient time for the products to be effective prior to boarding. Owners are required to comb cats with a metal toothed flea comb prior to arrival to ensure that the product used has been effective.  Upon arrival all cats will be examined for evidence of fleas.

If fleas and/or worms are suspected we will obtain appropriate veterinary advice and treatment. Veterinary fees will be applied to your boarding charge.

A standard charge of £10 will be applied to each pet presenting with parasites - ( in addition to the veterinary costs ) to cover the extra labour time required for caring for pets with parasites.

Arrivals and Departures

Customers are required to adhere to the opening times for the arrival and departure of their pets.

Opening times are available on the website, Facebook page and also from ourselves via telephone or email.

Customers must arrive allowing sufficient time within the opening hour to settle their pet(s) into their allocated accommodation and complete the appropriate paperwork.

Pets must be transported in a safe and secure pet carrier, labelled with the pets name and emergency contacts name and telephone number. Pet carriers are to remain at Kingstone Pet Boarding for the duration of the pets stay.

Belongings and bedding

Whilst every care will be taken by Kingstone Pet Boarding, all belongings are left at the owner’s risk.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have all of their pet’s belongings when leaving.

Any items left unclaimed by owners after two months following boarding will be disposed of.

It may be necessary on occasion to launder pets bedding if soiled during boarding. All bedding is routinely washed using our standard disinfectant “Anigene”.

It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Kingstone Pet Boarding should they wish for their pet’s bedding not to be laundered in the event of soiling.

In this event soiled bedding will be removed from the room and stored ready for home, and replaced with our own bedding.

GDPR

Kingstone Pet Boarding’s GDPR policy is available to view in reception and copies can be made available upon your request. It also forms part of our Privacy Policy also available on this website.
